Rosie Duffield, the newly elected Labour MP for Canterbury & Whitstable, has given early indications of being a supporter of Palestinians’ rights. The surprise winner of the seat, who ousted Conservative Sir Julian Brazier in the 8 June election, answered five questions on Palestine and Israel during the campaign, put to the candidates by Faversham … Continue reading

Brazier under fire for promoting military components firm

Canterbury and Whitstable MP Julian Brazier has been criticised for promoting companies that enable Israel to carry out its deadly attacks on Palestinians. The junior defence minister was visiting Raytheon in Fife, and took the opportunity to promote the “crucial” products supplied to it by Whitstable-based Amphenol. Both companies provide military-use components to Israel. Mr … Continue reading

Should EU trade rules favour Israel? Here’s what your MEPs think

The EU- Israel Association Agreement gives Israel preferential access to European markets (at a time when Palestinians face crippling barriers to getting their goods to market) and – incredibly – allows Israeli government departments and arms companies to access EU funding. It also normalises relations with what should be regarded as a rogue state. More … Continue reading
