Crafting Resistance – a tale of women’s resilience, 30 October

The founder of a women’s co-operative in the West Bank town of Hebron will be visiting Whitstable on Friday 30 October.

WiH portrait jpgNawal Slemiah will talk about how her co-op has brought self-reliance to women in the town, the centre of which is occupied by a few hundred extremist settlers who attack local people regularly.

Nawal will also give us an update on the latest situation in the West Bank, and explain how she sees the co-op’s work as a form of resistance to the occupation.

There will be a unique opportunity to buy handicrafts made by the Women In Hebron co-operative.

The event begins at 7pm in St Alfege Church in the High Street. Entry is free.

You can find and share the Facebook event page here.
