Dozens in Faversham pledge to boycott HP

Dozens of market-goers in Faversham signed up to a boycott of products made by the technology giant HP on Saturday.

After reading our factsheet on how HP provides the technology for Israel’s apartheid infrastructure in the West Bank, including its network of checkpoints, local people put their names to the boycott effort.

wpid-img_20150418_110743.jpgAs usual we were selling fairly traded Zaytoun olive oil, maftoul (Palestinian giant couscous) and za’atar, too, and we very nearly sold out, raising more than £100.

We also had information for people on how they could contact their parliamentary candidates to ask them for their positions on Palestine. You can see on this website how our candidates for Faversham and Whitstable responded. It was particularly appropriate on Saturday, with some of the political parties out in force in the square at the same time.
