‘The Uprooted’ – film and discussion evening, 18 November

uprooted posterOn 18 November 2014, Faversham & Whitstable Palestine Solidarity Campaign will screen a short documentary, The Uprooted: A Tale of Palestinian Farmers – all are welcome and entry is free (donations are requested). Afterwards there will be a discussion, as well as the chance to buy Zaytoun Palestinian olive oil and hear about the PSC’s recent mass lobby of MPs in Parliament.

The event will be held at 7pm in the Fleur Hall, 13 Preston Street, Faversham ME13 8NX (entrance in Gatefield Lane).

The film tells the story of two farmers from a village near Bethlehem, whose farmlands were confiscated by the Israeli authorities to expand the surrounding Israeli colonies, pave Israeli-only bypass roads and lay down pipes that divert Palestinian water to the colonies. Many farmers have lost their olive trees to this process. Here they tell their stories of loss and subjection to violence.
